MONEY AND WEDDINGS. WEDDINGS AND MONEY.

Money. What a weird word.

That’s it! When if that’s all this blog post was!? I’m just kidding. Please keep reading and I’ll do my best to shed some light on this dilemma.

You don’t have to spend money to have your dream day. BUT spend the money if you WANT to, not because you HAVE to. OK, but spend money on a good photographer, because I think our role in this industry is the most important. We are your memory keepers.

What do you actually need? The answer is nothing when you come down to it. Put on a burlap sack and tell everyone to meet you in the woods. Thats cool, as long as it’s your dream day and nothing could possibly bother you. On the contrary, would walking down the aisle with a thousand white roses and a wedding dress made out of diamonds make your heart sing? Then do it! This is your chance!

My advice to you before spending any money: Paint your dream day. Who is there? What is there? What does it feel like? What does it look like? And go from there. Get creative and don’t ever take yourself too seriously and don’t get lost in someone else’s dream day. Make sure it’s Y-O-U. I have witnessed over a hundred weddings. I’ve seen epic weddings for $5,000 to $100,000 but there was always love.

Talk with you partner and make sure you compromise. I refuse to just cater to one side in the wedding industry. This is the beginning of your partnership, so make sure you do it together.

Oh, and don’t forget to get a good photographer.
