Goodloe and I went West to the High Desert of Marfa, Texas
Marfa is a pretty small town with a big heart. There are about 2,100 residents but the moment you arrive, you are part of the family... The people, the nature, the food... everything was so beautifully unique. It was the perfect getaway. And honestly, I'm day-dreaming of moving there. Maybe one day..
I've returned home with a little West Texas in my heart. I feel like the high desert vibes affected me and changed me for the better.
“The desert could not be claimed or owned–it was a piece of cloth carried by winds, never held down by stones, and given a hundred shifting names... Its caravans, those strange rambling feasts and cultures, left nothing behind, not an ember. All of us, even those with European homes and children in the distance, wished to remove the clothing of our countries. It was a place of faith. We disappeared into landscape.”
